An online shooter in which you have to be the only survivor on an abandoned island.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds- one of the most high-profile games of 2017. This online shooter really made the battle royale genre popular, and at the same time became the most popular game in Steam history. It’s interesting what the almost unknown developer Brendan Greene did with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds - he started with mods for and consulting developers, and then received a contract from Bluehole to develop his own game. On March 23, open testing of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds began, and the game was so successful that it earned its first million dollars in a matter of days.

The rules of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds are simple. 100 players are dropped from an airplane onto a huge island. They have neither weapons nor equipment - everything must be looked for on the ground. Moreover, there is only one winner in each match - the one who remains alive last. After landing, you can control the hero by parachute, and the island itself is relatively large. Therefore, you can always choose: to land in a large village, where the battle usually begins from the first minutes, or to land somewhere on the edge of the island and spend the first time calmly searching for the necessary things.

But quickly enough Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds begins to pit players against each other. A safe zone appears on the island - if you don’t get to it within the specified amount of time, you will die. The zone is constantly shrinking, plus some areas are subject to artillery strikes, and from time to time an aircraft appears, dropping particularly powerful weapons. As a result, in Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds you are constantly on the move, while trying not to die and deal with as many enemies as possible.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds gives absolutely all players a chance. You can be an inexperienced beginner, you can shoot poorly - but sooner or later the match will turn out in such a way that this particular player will be in the most advantageous position and with a good weapon, having every chance to win. However, the ability to play is also important here - there are different landing tactics, different routes around the map, thought out in such a way as to search as many loot points as possible in relative safety.

You can also play Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds in a team size of 2 to 4 players. This greatly changes tactics - the team needs more weapons and items, so they have to search a larger area, but at the same time constantly be in contact to help each other in battle. Transport is especially important in teams - by car you can quickly move from one farming point to another.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is distributed according to the classic model - you just need to buy the game once and then spend as much time as you like on the servers. In addition, the game has a market for items - they do not strengthen the hero in any way, but they allow him to stand out. Items are obtained from boxes, which are purchased using currency received for participating in matches. At the same time, prices for some especially rare items reach several hundred dollars - so if you are lucky in PUBG you can make good money.

Before purchasing a game, it is very important to know the system requirements. It’s a shame when you shell out a considerable amount, but the game doesn’t start or is impossible to play. PUBG is a special case. This survival simulator barely runs not only on bad computers, but even on top-end builds from two years ago.

For those for whom the system requirements do not suit, they still buy the game: reduce the settings to a minimum and indefinitely. It is also important to install correctly. So, what do the developers say.

Minimum System Requirements

These are the official system requirements for the game, which are presented by the developer on the Steam page where the game is sold. Let's be honest with you: It is impossible to play on the specified configuration. Even at minimum settings there will be terrible lags.

There is such a marketing technique: to lower system requirements in order to reach as large an audience as possible with different PCs, thereby increasing sales... We conducted some tests of this game on various configurations from top-end machines to minimal ones.

As you can see, to play PUBG comfortably you need a fairly powerful computer. But this does not negate the absence of lags and freezes, of which there are plenty in the game. We hope that the developers will work closely on optimizing the game instead of monetization.

Did you like the material? Don't wait for likes

Bluehole has published the minimum system requirements for its new game Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. Despite the game's early access release about a month ago, official system requirements have only recently appeared.

As the site learned, the requirements turned out to be quite high even by the standards of modern games. In order to run the shooter on the Unreal Engine 4, you will need 6 GB of RAM, a dual-core processor with a frequency of 3.6 GHz and a video card with 2 GB of memory.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds minimum system requirements

  • Operating system: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-4340 @ 3.6 GHz or AMD FX-6300 @ 3.6 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB
  • Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7850 with 2 GB of memory
  • Free hard disk space: 30 GB
  • DirectX 11

Since the game's Early Access release on March 23, many players have complained about the game's optimization and frame rate drops. According to gamers, the team decided to sacrifice weak PCs for the sake of high picture quality. However, many suffer from slowdowns and lags. There are also those for whom the game simply refuses to start.

Many users, before purchasing the game Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, ask questions: what should be the minimum system requirements for the game to work?

Especially for you, we have prepared an article. Also, in the process of updating the game and releasing new patches, changes in recommendations are possible. Also, PUBG only supports 64-bit operating systems. For better performance, we recommend installing the game on an SSD drive, this will avoid the lack of textures in the game (textures are not loaded.)

Minimum and recommended system requirements for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

For complete clarity, we checked the test on the minimum requirements of PUBG to understand whether the game will really work, and on which video cards the game runs best. To do this, we recreated all the same settings on both NVIDEO and AMD Radeon. At the end of the video card test, we received the following:

Screenshot of nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB performance in PUBG:

Screenshot of AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB performance in PUBG:

As can be seen from the tests, the performance on both video cards sometimes dropped to 0. It also follows that owners of nVidia cards will enjoy the game more, because much higher than on AMD. But since the game is updated monthly and some new optimized packs and improvements are added, perhaps in the near future the game will work more stable.

Will PUBG work on my PC?

If you are still in doubt whether the game will run on your computer, you can leave a comment under the article with the parameters of your PC, and we will tell you whether PUBG will work or not. Also in the article we published links to game optimization, which can really increase your FPS.

We are waiting for your questions.

One of the gaming innovations of last year is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The acclaimed game requires increased performance and players have to upgrade their bakeries to enjoy the gameplay. In this regard, the question arises: how to choose a computer for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and not make a mistake?

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a third-person shooter in the survival simulator genre, developed by Bluehole Inc. The essence of the game is simple: in each round, 100 players fly to an island, where they collect weapons and resources to fight in a gradually shrinking battle zone until there are no more only one player (or team).

The game's creative director is Brendan Greene, who previously developed the Battle Royale game mode in the ARMA and H1Z1 series. Seeing the success of the genre, he released his own game in March 2017. On December 21, 2017, the game left early access and is currently one of the most popular computer games, ranking first in the charts and remaining the best-selling game.

For more than a year, the game has undergone many changes: new vehicles, weapons, emotions, several maps have been added, many bugs have been fixed and optimization has been improved. The game has been released on mobile phones, eSports is developing, and custom matches have become available to players.

PUBG has large maps with many artistic techniques, so it requires a powerful graphics card for processing. The game is currently optimized for NVIDIA GPUs, meaning NVIDIA GPUs will perform approximately 10% better in PUBG compared to equivalent AMD GPUs.

Processor for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

PUBG is also quite CPU intensive. High single-threaded performance is very important, which is why previous generations of processors struggle. PUBG and Unreal 4 engine can use up to 8 threads, but 4 threads are effectively used. Performance varies depending on location in the game, number of players nearby, and what's happening. Having a powerful processor helps smooth things out considerably, while weaker processors may lack performance during stressful moments.

For low to medium settings at 1080p, you'll need an Intel Pentium G5400 or an AMD Ryzen 3 2300X. If you want to play at maximum settings, we recommend the Intel® Core™ i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2400G.

RAM and SSD for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

As mentioned above, your video card must have video memory of at least 4 GB in FHD / 2K resolutions and from 6 GB for 4K, so as not to occupy RAM resources. RAM consumption at maximum settings:

  • 1920x1080: from 5.6 GB to 6.3 GB
  • 2560x1440: from 5.9 GB to 6.4 GB
  • 3840x2160: from 6 GB to 6.5 GB, or up to 7.3 ... 7.5 GB of RAM if video memory is 3-4 GB;

It can be seen that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds consumes up to 6.5 GB of RAM, provided that all other applications are closed and there is sufficient video memory. The optimal amount of RAM required for comfortable gaming is 8 GB. It is advisable to have an SSD drive - with it the cards will load and load much faster.

Gaming computers and laptops for PUBG

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds requires a mid-range gaming PC. The optimal build to get 60 FPS at maximum settings in FHD resolution is as follows:

  • Video card GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB / GTX 1660 6 GB;
  • Processor Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2400G;
  • 8 GB DDR4 RAM;
