Skyrim tips for beginners. Skyrim leveling guide

This is a great chance to plunge into the world of Skyrim for those who have not played the original game and missed all its splendor, in addition, users of the latest generation consoles will also be able to appreciate it. And if you are already an experienced Skyrim player, but want to see your favorite world with updated graphics without mods, then you will not be disappointed either.

Just for those who are just about to get acquainted with this dangerous, damn interesting world, we have compiled a guide that will help you take your first steps in the game.

Save

Save often and manually. There is no shame in suddenly losing to some monster in a cave and having to reload. But if your last save is far behind and you have to spend a lot of time to catch up with everything you lost, then this is very disappointing. And the distances can be quite decent! Even more.

If you want to quickly reset the merchant's inventory, try saving the game, hitting the merchant, and loading again. His inventory and money should be reset.

You can level up your follower by using the Wabbajak staff, which can be obtained by completing the quest "Mad Mind".

Want to take all of your follower's inventory and fire him? Use Wabbajak and turn it into chicken, or pie. Then you definitely won’t have a fight, and there won’t be any other problems. After the follower returns to normal, he will only have the default weapon.

One last piece of advice: save before your wedding. Then talk to your future wife (husband) about where you will live, since you will receive “Love Comfort” from marriage and living together. But there is a bug here and it may happen that the future spouse goes to his own home, and then you will not receive that same comfort. In this case, reload the save and try again.

How to make a vampire

It's cool to be a vampire, but you can't appear in the sun. Plus, you will be hated by everyone and everything. So, to become a vampire, you need to face a vampire. If he uses the Drain Life spell on you, you may contract the Sanguinare Vampiris disease. Within 72 hours you can be cured, but why?

Once you become a full-fledged vampire, you will have 100% immunity to disease and poison. In addition, when you sneak up on your victim, you will be 25% harder to detect. However, the downside is that you will be very weak in the sun. Maximum health, magicka and stamina will decrease depending on the stage of hunger, and their regeneration rate in the sun will be completely absent.

Efficiency limit

Your total armor number should be 567, which is only 80% of the highest possible number, which means enemies, especially high-level ones, will be able to kill you without much difficulty. To achieve the required amount of armor, you can use enchantments or sacrifice the skill of enchantments or abilities, but pump up agility or juggernaut.

There are also a number of perks that can be used with light armor and reduce damage taken by 50%. Or elixirs that increase armor and weapon damage on a temporary basis.

Don't go empty handed

If you have a weapon for one hand, then be sure to take something in the second. Or use a two-handed weapon. You won't be able to block attacks, but you will be able to deliver powerful blows, which is sometimes more useful.

If you want to attack quickly, then a good solution would be to insert a dagger into your second hand, if it is empty. This way, the speed of your attacks will be quite high, since blades are the fastest weapons in the game. Remember that if you attack with two weapons, they both take damage. By the way, if you deal a triple blow with both weapons, remember that each blow deals 50% more damage, i.e. triple strike will increase by 150%.

War is war, but lunch is on schedule

Don’t forget to eat deliciously, because Skyrim has everything you need for this! We, in turn, will tell you several recipes that you can easily repeat in Skyrim!

Vegetable soup

  • Cabbage - 1 piece;
  • Potatoes - 1 piece;
  • Leek - 1 piece;
  • Tomato - 1 pc.

This soup will help restore 1 unit of health and stamina per second for 720 seconds. It can be prepared without salt and is an excellent food for warriors.

Venison chowder

  • Venison - 1 piece;
  • Salt - 1 piece;
  • Potatoes - 1 piece;
  • Leek - 1 pc.

To prepare, you will need the above ingredients and a cauldron. This stew perfectly accelerates the restoration of strength and health. So before the fight, take a minute or two to eat.

Beef chowder

  • Raw beef - 1 piece;
  • Carrots - 1 piece;
  • Salt - 1 piece;
  • Garlic - 1 pc.

It does a good job of increasing your stamina levels and helping with their regeneration. By the way, the duration of the effect of this dish is several minutes longer than the duration of a similar effect for potions.

Elsweyr fondue

  • Circle of Eidar cheese - 1 piece;
  • Moon sugar - 1 piece;
  • El - 1 pc.

This dish will be a great help for those who use magic, as it increases magic and also promotes its regeneration.

Use companions correctly

Companions in Skyrim are needed not only to brighten up loneliness, but also to use them for your own benefit.

If you are not satisfied with the level or characteristics of your companion, then you can use Wabbajak to improve them. That is, you can take away the companion’s inventory, release him, use Wabbajack on him, and after he returns to normal form, his level should match yours.

Morality

Each companion has his own moral principles. Some companions are ready to commit a crime and they don’t care if you are not an angel. Other companions are ready for violence against enemies, but are categorically against offending the innocent. There are also those who are not ready to attack, but can steal something. And of course there are those who absolutely do not want to carry out orders that will harm anyone.

Teams

You can talk to your companions, share your inventory, or give them orders. For example, you can order a companion to attack an NPC, wait for you somewhere, open a door or chests, pick up something, sleep, use scrolls, etc.

Multiple satellites

Without using mods you will not be able to have multiple companions, but if, for example, you have to complete some mission that comes with a companion, then it will be with you until the end of the mission. By the way, it is possible to take an Initiate from the Dark Brotherhood as a companion, and even if he is not a full-fledged companion, he can still help you. You can also take pets.

Easter eggs

Call them whatever you want - glitches, bugs, easter eggs, references, but some of them are really cool.

Headless horseman

You can see this comrade between 22:00 and 4:00. If you follow him, he will lead you to Hamvir's Rest, where you will find the Draugr, or rather his skull.

Endless Arrows

If you prefer to play as an archer thief, then you can find an archer warrior, sneak up on him and take all the arrows and replace them with one high quality one. This way, this archer will only shoot high quality arrows and you will be able to retrieve them from the target.

Exploding Spiders

Sounds gross, right? If you search the White Ridge Mound well, you'll find an "Infill Chamber" where you can create exploding spiders. They will be stored in the scrolls section.

Ride the invincible dragon

Did you want to ride a dragon, but didn’t see the point, since these winged ones can easily die, or kill you? There is a great option! After learning a new cry that will allow you to tame these cute lizards, go to the top of the Throat of the World and use it. The dragon flying around will come down to you and you can ride it. Moreover, he will not attack you.

Best light armor

Light armor is an excellent choice for those who want to move quickly and easily. Of course, at the very beginning it will not protect you as much as heavy armor, but by increasing the level of effectiveness you can make it so that your light armor will be the same in protection as heavy armor.

Here are some good light armor options:

Nightingale armor

This armor boasts lightness and durability, allowing you to run quickly and for a long time. Increases strength and gives resistance to cold.

Dragonscale Armor

Has very high protection rates. It’s not so easy to get it, because you can’t buy it from ordinary traders. But you can find it from the Dremora merchant, and it can also drop from the corpse of the legendary dragon.

Heavy armor

If speed of movement is not so important to you, but it is important to be protected from everything and everyone, then heavy armor will be good for you.

Daedric armor

It has the highest defense rate, but it is very heavy. It can be created at a forge, but to do this you need to have the Blacksmithing skill level 90, the Daedric Armor ability and the necessary materials.

Armor of Azidal

Interesting armor, the boots of which will even allow you to walk on water, and will also give +10 to your charm if you have any 4 relics of Azidal equipped. You can find this armor in the Kolbjorn mound.

How to create your own armor

We've already looked at several types of heavy and light armor, and now it's time to find out how you can make it yourself.

Daedric Armor (Heavy)

There are a total of 30 different “screams” in Skyrim, but we will tell you about the best of them.

  • Aura Whisper - will show you all living and non-living creatures around you;
  • Incorporeality - will make you an incorporeal form. You won't take damage, but you won't be able to attack either;
  • Elemental Rage - increases weapon attack speed;
  • Death sentence - will reduce the enemy’s health and strength, as well as his armor;
  • Ruthless force - with this scream you can stun and push away creatures in front of you.

When preparing this article, some screenshots were taken from the original game The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. If you have your own helpful tips for the game, post them in the comments below!

"Blacksmith craft"

It is most convenient to start character development with this skill, since in combination with the Enchantment skill it will bring in impressive income. The ideal place for leveling up is Whiterun, the “House of the Warrior” store, because there are already two merchants in one place (inside and outside). We buy from both of them all the iron ore, iron ingots, leather and strips made from it. We smelt the ore, cut the leather, forge daggers, increase the “Blacksmithing” skill to 30, add a little something to the “Dwemer Armor” ability. We collect as much scrap metal as possible from Dwemer ruins, melt it into ingots, buy half as many iron ingots, and forge Dwemer bows up to 100 skill. Their sale itself covers the costs.

Jewelry making quickly develops the skill. Moreover, the more expensive the finished product, the more the skill growth bar is filled. Combine the development of the Blacksmithing skill with the development of the Alteration skill. To do this, you will need a spell from the school of magic “Change” “Transmutation”, a volume of which can be found in the Pure Springs camp or in Ansilvund. With the help of a spell, you can change iron ore into silver, and silver into gold, providing the blacksmith with material for the production of jewelry and developing the “Change” skill (albeit not very quickly).

With enough funds, building a full-fledged house can have a good impact on the development of skills.HF

The most effective way to develop the Blacksmithing skill (and Pickpocketing at the same time) works until about level 25. This will require about 3000 septims. Go to the blacksmith Balimund in Riften or Yorlund Graymane in Whiterun and ask him to teach the skill to your hero (the main thing is not to pay him too much if the Pickpocket skill level is low, otherwise nothing will work). Then steal the money he paid for the lessons. Ability points for acquired levels will also have to be invested in “Pickpocketing”, since the cost of training increases and the chance of successful theft decreases. You can do the same when developing other skills.

Upgrade blacksmithing
We get behind the textures in Whiterun (you can through the roof of your comrades’ house, but it’s not a fact that a blacksmith will do) and 1 more place near the gate (Google it, I don’t remember) We climb into the baggage chest and take everything from there, then create clothes (whatever you want) and download blacksmith, the chest is updated every 48 hours

"Enchantment"

This skill will also be necessary for developing magical skills. The ideal way is to find a weapon enchanted to capture souls, pick up any soul stones you come across and buy empty small and tiny ones (the cheapest). While traveling around Skyrim, we fill soul stones. It will be a big plus if the main character studies enchantment effects such as “Repeal Undead”, “Absorb Health”, “Paralysis” or “Exile Daedra” - they will make enchanted items especially expensive. Next, we simply enchant previously forged daggers and Dwemer bows with these effects. The skill increase is significant. The profit from the sale of the result of the work will not only cover the costs, but will also provide a fortune.

"Alchemy"

It's great that Enchantment was developed early. You can now apply a 29% improvement in the quality of potions to your headdress, gloves, ring, and amulet, making them not only more effective, but also more expensive. The recipe for developing a skill is simple: we travel around cities, buy all the ingredients from alchemists, try unknown ones, and brew potions from known ones. (Or we save, kill the merchant, and load)

In the initial stages, it is best to develop the skill by mixing different ingredients and learning their properties. For better progress, it is better to mix not two, but three ingredients. So there is a higher probability that in a sample of not eight, but out of twelve properties there will be two identical ones. Of course, when mixing ingredients, it is necessary to take those that have more unstudied properties, which will allow you to learn new properties more often. For the same purpose, it is not recommended to take an ingredient for an experiment, all of whose properties are already known - the likelihood of discovering a new one will be much lower.

At first, alchemy will not pay off, so we can simply not buy such expensive ingredients as Daedra hearts and elemental salts, making do with cheaper ones. First of all, we try to brew potions with the effects “Paralysis”, “Invisibility”, “Damage to magic regeneration”, “Magic regeneration”, “Increasing health” since such potions cost quite a lot. Alchemy is also a very good way to make money, as well as the best way to develop your character's skills.

Also here is one decent recipe for creating a potion (Giant's Finger, Bearded Moss, Bear Claws)

"Eloquence"

So, the “Alchemy” skill has been developed to a hundred and in the character’s inventory there is not only a lot of gold, but also a couple of hundred kilograms of potions worth at least 500-1000 gold each. It’s rare to find a merchant who can buy more than a couple of potions at a time. But there is a wonderful way to transform this heavy burden into developing the Speech skill. If you have the “Merchant” ability, then you can trade potions with any merchant, otherwise - only with alchemists. Having previously collected an excess of potions, we work according to the following scheme: we sell a few pieces, then buy them back, sell them again, covering the costs with the available potions. Try not to buy more than ~15,000 septims at a time - a bug may occur and you will not receive money from the sale. The increase in skill is enormous - one merchant’s skill rises from 15 to 100 in 10-15 minutes.

To develop the Speech skill, you need to use persuasion as often as possible. Moreover, the more difficult it is to convince a character, the more the skill grows with a successful attempt at persuasion. The skill also increases with threats, but this is a more “risky” option. Elements of equipment enchanted to increase skill, potions, as well as the Gift of Mercy and Dibella’s blessing can facilitate persuasion.

In addition to persuasion, you can develop eloquence by using threats. The threat should be used if you are superior to your opponent in strength and weapons or have previously defeated him in battle. The success of the threat is affected by both the speech skill and the difference in the level of the characters. For example, you can do the “Red-Handed” quest by convincing Hofgir Storm of Horses to give you the sign of Dibella using threats, after beating him in a fist fight, or, which will be much more difficult, using persuasion. The growth of skill from a successful threat occurs in the same way as from successful persuasion.

There is a bug (not the console), how to get eloquence to 100 is incredibly easy
We arrive at Dawnstar and wait for the Khajiit caravan to arrive.
We buy everything we have enough money for and sell these things and all(!) our clothes
Then we approach the chest near the mine under the stone (it is not visible, but it will light up if you look) and take all our things
We do this until we reach 100, don’t thank me)

Development of magical talents

Well, that's good, we learned how to earn a lot of money and developed four useful character skills to the maximum. Now you don’t have to waste time on trifles and take lessons from skill teachers. However, you should not waste training opportunities on the remaining skills of the magician, because with developed enchantment they are pumped up in no time: we create sets (clothing, ring, amulet and headdress: each item for −25% of the magic consumption of the desired magic school) for each skill, and go ahead!

"Recovery"

No, you don’t need to expose yourself to blows and get treatment, this is not the best way. We buy a book with the spell “Scaring Lesser Undead,” go into some tomb (for example, Whiterun’s Hall of the Dead) and scare the skeleton with both hands (without the “Double Recovery” ability!). The unfortunate person will try to run away, but the spell stuns him for a couple of seconds, so if you get used to it, he won’t move from his spot.
Another way is to use the Summon Boneman spell in combination with the Repel Undead spell. The principle is the same as with the skeleton, but, unlike it, the bone man does not run away, which makes developing the skill even simpler. However, the difficulty in obtaining the spell tome to summon a bone man makes this method not so attractive at low levels of character development.

If you have already learned (or can acquire) the “Circle of Protection” spell, you don’t have to look for the undead in order to scare them away. The spell literally works in an “open field”, without requiring any “undead” type creatures nearby. You can cast it even in one of the main character’s houses, and the skill will be developed quite quickly, considering that this is an “Expert” level spell. At a low skill level, this spell, of course, is not available, but it is very useful for developing a skill above 70 units, when the development speed is significantly reduced.

"Illusion"

We buy a cheap “Calm” spell, find a deer somewhere and calm it with both hands (without the “Double Illusion” ability!). The deer will simply stand peacefully; hitting it will not be difficult. In fifteen minutes we have a skill developed to one hundred points.

You can also use the Escape spell on the mud crab. Since the spell requires more mana points, leveling up is much faster, but the constantly running away crab brings some inconvenience.

Another way to level up is to use the “Muffle Steps” spell (without
abilities “Double Illusion”!) with two hands. To do this, you need to activate the Sign of the Atronach and expose yourself to a ray of light in Kilkreath (Temple of Meridia). Magic is replenished instantly, but there is one drawback - this ray of light does little damage, and after a while you have to be treated. After 15–25 minutes, we have a skill developed to one hundred points.

"Witchcraft"

It's no use summoning atronachs. We learn Soul Trap, travel to the northern coast and use this spell with two hands (again, without the Double Affliction ability) on a slow, lumbering horker. This will also take no more than 15 minutes.

It’s ideal when you come across a flock of skeevers, about 5-6 of them. We use “Soul Capture” on them. When building a basement in a HF estate, similar flocks will appear there regularly. If you make your way through the sewers to the Golden Flower estate, you may also encounter a flock of aggressive rodents. At higher levels you can visit locations that were cleared at the very beginning of the game.

“Revitalizing Zombies” (Beginner level) - after clearing the cave, we collect everything we find, and at the same time revive the dead bandits. Reanimated bandits can be killed again, thereby contributing to the development of another skill.

"Change"

Ideally developed with the spells “Telekinesis” (the larger, heavier and further away the object, the faster the skill develops) or “Detection of Life” (use in places where there are many living creatures. You can also use “Detection of Death”, but in places where there are undead. The more we discover per unit of time, the faster the skill grows). It is convenient to upgrade this skill during the daytime in the market squares of cities.

An exotic, but effective method of developing the skill is associated with completing the College of Winterhold quest “Balancing”, during which the character has a temporary effect of instantly restoring magic for two hours of real time. After the effect is obtained, you need to travel to any densely populated city in Skyrim, stand in a crowded place during the day, equip the character’s “Telekinesis” spell in one hand, “Detect Life” in the other, and throw some heavier object on the ground. After this, we attract the object with “Telekinesis” and use “Detect Life”. In this way, the skill develops very quickly.

"Destruction"

It has its own subtleties. The development speed is calculated based not so much on the total damage inflicted, but on the level of the spell with which this damage was inflicted. In other words, killing a creature with the Ice Spike spell (Apprentice level) will raise the skill level less than killing the same creature with Ice Storm (Adept level). Cast the most powerful spells available using both hands. Do not take the “Double Destruction” ability for now; hitting two spells will increase the skill faster than hitting one enhanced spell. Also, whenever possible, try to use area of effect spells on enemy clusters. This will also slightly speed up the progression of the skill, depending on the number of targets simultaneously affected by the spell.

Development of protection

It’s good that Blacksmithing, Alchemy, Enchanting and Restoration are already maximally developed! We brew potions to increase the “Enchanting” and “Blacksmithing” skills, use the first to enchant a set of things to improve the “Blacksmithing” skill and the second to improve armor with a shield (Daedric, glass or dragon ones are perfect). It's best to go to some Forsworn camp and gather a decent crowd around you.

"Heavy armor"

We endure beatings, heal, drink potions. Nothing complicated.

You can quickly level up your skill in Riften, in the room with the skeevers. Skeevers are weak and their attacks are fast.

"Light armor"

Similar to Heavy Armor.

"Blocking"

It is convenient to develop the skill by hiding behind a shield from enemies who use a fighting style with weapons in both hands, or by striking with the shield itself.

If health and armor allow, then for the fastest development you can use strong creatures, for example, a summoned Dremora Lord. You can anger him with a couple of slaps or some weak spell, and then suffer the blows of his powerful two-handed sword. In the process, you can also develop the skills “Light Armor,” “Heavy Armor,” “Restoration,” and “Sorcery.”

Thieves' things

These three skills are best spent on training opportunities from teachers, as they are the most difficult to develop. It wouldn’t hurt to learn the “Muffle Footsteps” spell or enchant boots for the same effect. However, no one forbids running without shoes.

"Stealth"

The easiest way to develop the skill is to use sneaky melee attacks. Nordic ruins with not yet awakened draugr are well suited for these purposes.

There is also a way to quickly level up Stealth without leaving Helgen. First, after the dragon attack, you need to go to the fortress with Hadvar. Having reached the torture room, you need to kill all the enemies, while the Torture Master must remain alive. It is on him that you need to level up your skill by beating him in stealth mode. He does not aggro on the main character if you hit him and his health recovers very quickly. If he does not want to stand still and constantly turns to face you, you need to go through the dungeon a little further and return back: the torture master will stand alone and look at one point without reacting to you.

It is useful to make a set of things that increase this skill, and change into it for training on Master-level locks when you come across them. You can also use the Skeleton Key for these purposes without wasting time and money searching for and purchasing master keys.

You can also buy master keys and break them on complex locks. Each broken master key increases your skill. This is a fairly quick and inexpensive way to develop a skill.

You can also join the Thieves Guild and go to the training room (location “Ragged Flagon - Cistern”) - there will be five different chests there, each with a different complexity of locks, up to “Master”. These chests are updated more often than others, which makes it very easy and quick to level up your skill.

"Pickpocket"

A homemade set of things that increases this skill will come in handy. One of the easiest skills to develop. Start stealing amounts of several tens of septims, reaching several thousand at the end of developing this skill (and this is without clothes enchanted to increase the skill).

Ideal victims are skill teachers. After receiving a lesson or several for an amount that has a chance of being stolen, you can steal the money invested in the training. The greater the amount stolen, the faster the skill grows.

If the victims have run out of valuable things, and they don’t have the skill to steal very valuable things, it doesn’t matter! Steal what you can, but at the same time being face to face with the victim. The success rate of pickpocketing will decrease, and the skill growth in case of success will increase. The ideal victims for developing a skill in this way are guards. Their inventory is updated once a day, things in which can be stolen from the back at a low level of skill development, and face to face at a higher level.

P.S Note: in game version 1.9.32.0.8, an unpleasant bug appeared due to the fact that items enchanted to improve the “Pickpocket” skill, as well as potions with such an effect, do not improve, but, on the contrary, worsen the skill. This can be fixed by installing an unofficial patch.

General Tips

Within eight hours of sleeping in your own bed, skills grow a little faster, unless, of course, your character has lycanthropy. It will also be useful to go to the Lover's Stone. And if you have already obtained the ethereal crown, additionally use one more of the guardian stones. But don’t forget that the bonuses from sleep and the Lover’s Stone do not stack!

With the development of certain skills, the number of opponents (or other peaceful creatures) makes itself felt. For example, progress in the skills “Light Armor”, “Heavy Armor”, “Stealth” and “Sorcery” depends on this.

Dovahkiin is a real person. Seriously.

Almost five years since its release, the outstanding, mind-blowing game Skyrim has brought players so much pleasure that we continue to enjoy it to this day. Its world remains one of the most thoughtful and developed in the universe of video games, its artificial intelligence systems seriously make you believe that the characters, whose arcs are wonderfully intertwined with each other, are real people, with their own desires and needs, and the feeling when you go on a journey playing as the mighty Dovahkiin, can only be compared with the emotions from reading the best works of Tolkien himself.

A truly remarkable development team that was the first to conceptualize a game with its own "dragon language" and fewer bloody combat scenes, spice it all up with patches that give players more extra moves, and create a quest log so extensive that it will keep you playing for days before you You will have time to understand what has sucked you into your head.

In 2015, Bethesda studio is seriously busy promoting Fallout 4, and this means that Skyrim II/Elder Scrolls VI will not be released anytime soon. However, this will not stop us from turning around and taking another look at a game that has become one of the best in history and about which many interesting facts have accumulated.

10. The Skyrim theme song is a track with the voices of 30 people...

The Skyrim theme song is a track with the voices of 30 people singing at the same time, overdubbed three times.

Majestic, epic, and a cry for battle, Skyrim's theme sounds as if an entire army of warriors were performing the lead vocals.

In fact, the master recording included the voices of 30 people and was later overdubbed two more times, creating the effect of a choir of an entire legion of warriors ready for battle.

9. The voice of Paarthurnax and Mario are the same person

Charles Martinet, the man behind Mario's catchphrase "That's me!" (English: “It’s a’me!”), is the same actor that Bethesda brought in to voice the powerful god-like Paarthurnax.

Unfortunately (but, in general, for obvious reasons), the game did not have the dragon’s greeting phrase “It’s me, Paarthurnax!” (English: “It’s a’me, Parthunaax!”) when you finally get to meet him, but you will never be able to look at this dragon the same way again.

8. The creator of the Fus Ro Dah language, Adam Adamovich, died in 2012.

Adam, who was responsible for many of Bethesda's outstanding concepts, including Fallout 3, sadly passed away in 2012. However, he will be remembered not only as the creator of the unique visual styles of Fallout 3 and Skyrim, but also as the man who developed the alphabet for the iconic "language of dragons."

Do you have a "Fus Ro Dah" tongue tattoo? Thank Adamovich for this.

7. A real child named Dovahkiin

Bethesda Studios has given a lifetime opportunity to play for free to a child named Dovahkiin.

Even before Bethesda won its title of "Best Developer of All Time" in 2015, the studio guaranteed a free game of Fallout 4 to a fan who sent in thousands of bottle caps, and also awarded free play to a couple who named their child Dovahkiin on the game's release day .

Yes, Dovahkiin Kellermayer was born on November 11, 2011, and his parents Eric and Megan were awarded the lifelong rights to the game and still continue to receive gifts from Bethesda studio.

6. The Skyrim voice team consisted of 70 actors...

Skyrim's voice acting team consisted of 70 actors who recorded a total of more than 60,000 lines of dialogue.

Creating new worlds is hard work, but while players are used to the fact that in games from other developers, dialogue usually comes down to repeating the same phrases, in Skyrim everything is completely different.

The studio hired 70 voice actors to ensure there was enough variety in the recordings, and eventually more than 60,000 phrases were recorded, including the legendary "I took an arrow to the knee" (pun: literally - "My knee was pierced by an arrow", figuratively - " I changed my mind"), which can be heard in the game performed by dozens of different voices.

5. In the game you can hear the voice of Winnie the Pooh and the Tasmanian Devil

This is another confirmation of the amazing talent of voice actors to impersonate. Jim Cummings gave the voices not only to Winnie the Pooh, but also to the crazy Tasmanian Devil from the popular cartoon. In addition, he also owns the voices of many of the older characters from Skyrim whom you meet along the way.

4. Skyrim's map isn't actually the biggest Bethesda map has created.

While the detail and precision of Skyrim's world is second to none, the studio had already outdone itself once in 1996 when it comes to the overall size of the game world.

The map of their second game, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, covers 62,394 square miles (100,413 sq km), which is 4,000 times larger than the world of Skyrim. This is certainly impressive, but is there an Easter egg with a hanging Luke Skywalker in the world of TES II? Most likely no.

3. We almost got Game of Thrones instead of Skyrim

Even before the airing of the HBO series, known for its naturalistic nature, its creators seriously considered the idea of creating a game based on it.

In an interview with EGMi, Todd Howard talked about how the studio team tried to adapt the material to their style, but the idea was ultimately rejected as the studio firmly believed in the success of Skyrim, primarily due to the ability to create characters and mythology independently. Howard emphasized that at some point they were almost ready to take on the Game of Thrones project. Thank God, the intuition did not let the developers down.

2. Emil Pagliarulo coined the famous phrase about the arrow in the knee

In theory, the now-iconic line, “I used to [put add backstory], but then an arrow hit me in the knee,” was taken from Patrick Rothfuss’s novel The Name of the Wind.

However, Kotaku blog, in an interview with director Todd Howard, found out that Pagliarulo came up with the phrase in order to give the guards human characteristics and reflect the interests of your game character and the time in which he lives.

1. Skyrim received a record 40 points in a review by Famitsu magazine

Skyrim is the only Western game that managed to get the maximum 40 points in Famitsu magazine's review. Eastern markets are known for their rejection of Western game design. For this reason, Xbox could not understand why shooters in the East are still gaining popularity, and games from The Elder Scrolls line, being record holders in Western markets, cannot even come close to comparable in sales to Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter or Final Fantasy.
However, even cultural differences were not a hindrance for Skyrim, and the authoritative Japanese magazine Famitsu awarded the game an honorable 40 out of 40 points, placing it alongside such games as Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid and Dragon Quest IX.

Skyrim was born in 2011, and has since received a lot of official and unofficial additions, including hundreds of quests, dozens of enemies and thousands of items. Such a huge amount of work done by both Bethesda developers and fans on the Internet simply does not make it possible to understand all the possibilities instantly, especially if a newcomer is playing who is not familiar with previous games in the series. Our guides will help you understand the basics, deal with character development systems, crafts and quests.

Here are tips on leveling up all 18 skills in the game.

One-handed and two-handed weapons

Honest way: when leveling up your weapon skills, the main thing is to know that the calculation is not based on the number of hits, but on the amount of damage caused. Therefore, it is best to pump up weapons with high damage, and on enemies with a lot of HP - trolls, giants, mammoths, etc.

On a bug: At the very beginning of the game, when completing the mission “Freedom!”, there will be a moment where your ally will stop in front of the bear. He will not pass further until you pass. And it is at this moment that you can beat him as much as you like - he will not die and will not attack you, although he will swear.

Alchemy

Alchemy works best when creating potions with a large number of properties - the more, the better. Before this, of course, you need to open all the properties of all ingredients to do this, use our table of alchemical properties.

Illusions

It is very easy to level up using the “Muffling Steps” spell. Just use it and that's it.

Witchcraft

Bug or no bug... the Soul Trap spell can be used on a corpse. Kill any creature and use the spell on the corpse.

Destruction

Honest way: attack your opponents with destruction magic, and it will gradually be pumped up. It is worth remembering that by enchanting objects you can make the cost of spells 0.

On a bug: In the Companions guild, in the introductory task, you will need to attack an NPC with a weapon. But you can do this with magic; in this case, the opponent will become an enemy, but will not attack in revenge.

Change

It is best to pump the change in conjunction with recovery. In one hand we take the spell “Equilibrium” (sold by a magician in Whiterun), and in the other we take some healing spell. The first will convert health into magic, and the second back. Upgrading two schools of magic at once.

Another way, watch the video:

Recovery

The second way to level up recovery is in conjunction with light/heavy armor. Find a weak opponent (wolves, crabs), let him attack you, and only heal yourself as needed without killing the enemy.

Third method: find a fire trap (they will be found in dungeons), stand on it, and heal.

blacksmith craft

One of the easiest skills to level up. To upgrade you need about 5000 - 10,000 gold.

It is best to level up your blacksmithing by creating iron daggers (1 iron ingot, 1 strip of leather). The best place for pumping is Whiterun there are 3 merchants there at once, from whom you can buy iron ingots, iron ore, leather, strips of leather, after which we make daggers, sell them back to the blacksmiths, scroll for two days and start again. But it’s better not to sell daggers, but to upgrade your enchantment with them.

Enchantment

For pumping you need:

  • small starting capital
  • a large number of any weapons (iron daggers will come in handy)
  • learned property for the weapon “Cast Undead” (or something similar, I forgot the name)

We go to Whiterun to the magician, buy all the filled soul stones from him, enchant the daggers, and sell them back to the magician. We scroll for two days and start again. The money will even be a plus.

Heavy, light armor

Just like with weapons, the main thing to remember is that leveling up does not depend on the number of hits received, but on their strength. Therefore, it is best to level up armor on strong opponents, such as giants. The main thing is to have time to get treatment and drink potions.

Blocking

Levels up by blocking enemy attacks. The harder they hit you, the faster it pumps. For leveling up, it is advisable to have armor with -% magic consumption for recovery spells, ideally, so that the spells would cost 0 mana, and all that remains is to find a suitable enemy so that you can hit hard and have time to heal. I pumped up on a giant.

Shooting

Method number 1: go to the north of Skyrim, and there on the shores find Harkers - slow, but very “fat” animals.

Method number 2: go through a series of tasks in the Dark Brotherhood, get a black horse, and shoot at it. He has very high regeneration he will not die, and will not retaliate.

Stealth

Levels up when you move close to other NPCs in a state of stealth. There is an opinion that the more NPCs in a certain radius, the better the leveling. The easiest way in some city, rest against a fence, and put something heavy on the “W” button

Breaking

There are no special hacking methods; hack all the chests and doors you find. A large number of locked locks can be found in the "Dwemer Museum" (located in Markarth?).

Pickpocketing

Also, no special methods have been found. Steal everything, from everyone. But remember that the more expensive or heavier the item, the greater the chances of getting caught stealing.

Eloquence

Honest way: The skill is upgraded by selling and buying items from merchants. Someone says that the calculation is based on the number of transactions (and not on the price), I tried to check the dependence I haven’t figured it out yet.

On a bug:

  • let's go to Riften
  • we find the Black Heather meadery, talk to Ungrient there
  • select conversation topic "Tell me about Mawan Blackbriar"
  • then select the option “Come on, tell me everything you know! (Belief)"

Repeat until the skill increases to 100

Skills can also be improved by teachers, but no more than 5 lessons (5 promotions) per level.

If you are good at pickpocketing, then immediately after lessons you can steal the money you spent from the teacher (especially true when lessons cost 10,000 or more).

Remember that the higher your skill, the stronger opponents you will encounter during your travels.
