As a rule, the user ends up with a device whose capabilities are very limited compared to the original.
For example, the screen resolution of a Chinese counterfeit Samsung n8000 tablet may be significantly lower, the battery may well be old and used, which means it will no longer be able to hold a charge well or will constantly fail. In addition, you should not expect official Samsung applications (such as Samsung Apps) to work normally on such a device; they may not even be there.

Unexpectedly, I recently came across a powerful 64Gb Samsung tablet from the Galaxy Note N8000 series, or to be more precise, I came across a counterfeit of this model.
About a week ago the phone rang. An acquaintance called me and told me that he was being offered to buy a new tablet for only $250. At that time he was interested real cost of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 64Gb 3G tablet, to which I answered him with data obtained from Yandex Market - the price of a new tablet varies from 7.9 to 9.5 million Belarusian rubles ($800 - $970).
Out of curiosity, I looked at the characteristics of this model.

The model is more than solid, The tablet was purchased at the beginning of the month in Moscow, but now the owner needs money and so he sells it. A friend told me that this tablet even has warranty card and receipt from the store with the Euroset stamp, which in principle eliminates the possibility of counterfeiting.
Omitting details, he bought this tablet for $150, and he received such a discount after he said that he needed to connect it to the computer and check everything. Neither one nor the other had time, so they agreed on this.
A little later, a friend of mine brought this tablet to me for testing, but at that time I had work to do and I still had to go to training. In the end, I was able to start checking the tablet only late in the evening and that’s where all the fun began.
How to check the tablet?
When I got home, I tried to turn on the tablet, but it wasn’t possible for me to do it the first time. It turned out that the battery of the Galaxy Note N8000 tablet was completely discharged.
I connected it via USB to my computer, the charging indicator lit up on the screen and then I was able to start the device for the first time.
Cool - everything works, I opened applications, clicked settings, connected the tablet to WiFi, used the Internet and even played some games installed by the previous owner. During such work, the tablet turned off several times by itself, and the battery charge level constantly jumped in an incomprehensible way - this alarmed me somewhat. Later, I attributed all the problems to a dead battery, turned off the tablet and left it to charge.
When my friend returned for the tablet, he asked me to send him a couple of movies and imagine my surprise when, instead of 64 gigabytes, my computer recognized only 2.
In the tablet settings, internal memory and another 64 gigs were displayed, but for some reason not all of it worked.
I decided that N8000 tablet lacks drivers. In the device manager there was indeed an unrecognized device labeled “Android”.
I climbed to the official Samsung website, selected the desired device, downloaded and installed the Samsung Kies 3 program with drivers on my computer, and immediately encountered a new riddle. The thing is that the device was not recognized by the program at all, at the moment when my Samsung Galaxy S 2 smartphone was perfectly detected.
I’m sitting at a dead end - I don’t understand what this tablet needs, what it lacks. In general, I fiddled with it for about 2-3 more hours before I began to think that it might actually turn out to be a banal fake.
I visited the legendary portal about mobile devices w3bsit3-dns.com, in search of useful information, I tried to update the tablet's operating system, tried to reflash it and eventually even did a hard reset, but did not get any results.
The next day I called another friend who also works in computer technology and tried to find out if he had encountered a similar problem. It turned out that it stacked and directed me in the right direction. He said it was fake.
How to distinguish a real tablet from a fake?
For some time I searched the Internet for any related information on how to distinguish a real tablet from a fake, in particular, how to identify a fake on the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000.
1. For the original tablet, the camera is in the center– on the fake it is moved to the corner.
2. This tablet has a Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 screen resolution 1280x800– the resolution of a fake is much lower. In my case, it was 960 by 600 - in other words, shortcuts and application icons were simply huge.

Fake tablet models do not have GPS. Try turning it on, and everything will immediately fall into place.
4. Original Samsung smartphones and tablets in “naked” mode equipped with special applications like Samsung Apps, ChatON, Group Cast, etc. at a time when the functionality of fake versions is significantly reduced.

I’m sure if you dig deeper on the Internet you can find many more ways to identify a fake, however, in this case, for me the very fact of the distribution of such tablets became a kind of discovery.
Okay, here my friend bought a tablet directly from his hands on the street, but it turns out that there have been cases when such models were easily sold to clients in fairly reputable stores like Svyaznoy. Where is the world heading?
And yes, by the way, after realizing and accepting the fact that the purchased Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet turned out to be a fake, I again asked my friend to show me the warranty card and the receipt from the store.
At first glance, everything is as it should be, the amount matches on all documents, the receipt is stapled to the warranty card, the stamp, as is usually done in stores, is applied to the corner - everything is according to the rules. But if you take a closer look, it turns out that for some reason the booklet for the tablet comes from the Samsung Galaxy TAB and not from the Samsung Galaxy Note, and for some reason that same IMEI code is not registered at all.

The heart of this tablet PC is the Exynos CPU model 4412. This is Samsung's own design. It includes four revision A9 cores operating at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. It is the combination of these characteristics that allows the Note N8000 to cope with any task without any problems. Again, all the features implemented in the AWS architecture function successfully in this silicon crystal. This includes disabling unused cores and lowering the clock frequency of an unused module. All this allows you to significantly save battery life. Overall, an excellent combination of performance and energy efficiency, which is the hallmark of all devices built on this architecture.
Graphics subsystem
To perform graphic functions, the Mali-400 MP4 adapter is integrated into this device. Of course, at the time the tablet was released, it made it possible to solve all tasks without exception. But now its computing power is no longer enough for demanding applications. The screen resolution is 1280 pixels by 800 pixels. Moreover, its diagonal is 10.1 inches. This is enough for normal and comfortable work, but a certain graininess of the picture will be present. Another disadvantage is the glossy finish of the screen. All finger touches will be imprinted on it.
A definite plus is the presence of a capacitive sensor, which is highly sensitive. Another advantage is support for up to five touches simultaneously. But now cheaper devices can boast of this feature. Despite the presence of certain comments, the graphics system of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 is well balanced, and its capabilities will be sufficient for the needs of most users.
Memory
The memory subsystem of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 is simply excellent. Reviews from satisfied owners of this gadget are further confirmation of this. It has 2 GB of RAM. Now, 2 years later, not every tablet or smartphone is equipped with that much RAM. The built-in memory is 16 GB - this volume is enough to store several films or a library of books. The strengths of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 cannot be considered. Reviews only confirm this. There are two options for its design - white (for a female audience) and black (more official). Case material - plastic. It scratches easily, and it is not resistant to impacts. Therefore, it is better to immediately buy a case in the kit that will protect this tablet from damage. The situation is similar with the screen. It is made of ordinary plastic and is also not resistant to cracks. So you need to immediately put on a protective film to prevent it from being scratched or damaged. These measures will significantly extend the operating time of this device.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 has a mediocre battery. The Chinese version in this case is even worse. The proprietary device uses a 7000 milliampere/hour lithium-ion battery. This capacity is enough for one day of comfortable work. Although, with a not very intense load, its charge can last for two days. But still not enough today. Now there are already batteries with a capacity of 10,000 milliampere/hour, and this is enough for 3 days of active use. But the Chinese copy has even less - 3000 milliamps/hour, which is enough for half a day of work. So before purchasing, you must definitely check the modification of the device. In addition, the rest of the technical specifications in the Chinese version are significantly worse than those of the original.
Software
Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 runs on the Android operating system with outdated version 4.0.4. This is quite enough to run most offers. But still, some programs (for example, the An-Tu-Tu tester) require version 4.1. Most likely, the system software of this Tablet PC will no longer be updated. Therefore, owners will have to work with what is available. This nuance must be taken into account before purchasing.
Communications
The Note N8000 tablet is equipped with a rich set of communications. First of all, these are Bluetooth (perfect for connecting other mobile devices), Wi-Fi (provides maximum data exchange speed when connecting to the Internet) and a 4G modem. The last option allows this device to function in any mobile networks that exist today. At the same time, the owner of the tablet is not tied to anything, but can exchange data with the global web in any corner of the globe where there is mobile communication. Also, do not forget that it is possible to make calls. True, it’s better to talk with headphones. The tablet has a large diagonal, so it is not entirely convenient to use it for these purposes. Among wired communications, there is the ability to connect via a universal serial interface USB. For navigation, transmitters for working with GPS and GLONASS systems are integrated into the gadget. This will allow you to easily determine your location. All this is enough to comfortably fill this device with all the necessary information and navigate around the area.
Results
In terms of technical specifications and software, the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 looks impeccable. The price is very high. Similar tablet personal computers from other manufacturers are much cheaper. For example, Lenovo Yoga can be purchased much cheaper. A device from Samsung costs $450, and a similar device from a Chinese manufacturer is valued at $375. From this side, buying a device from a Korean manufacturer is not entirely justified.
