Installing the driver in Windows 7

Installing a printer driver and control utility is a fairly simple process. First, download the required driver from the portal you are currently on (you can find the download link at the top), then open the “Downloads” folder and run the downloaded file. A window will appear where we will indicate the path to unpack the system files. We don’t touch anything - we leave everything as is, click “Next”.

To continue installing the SCX-4010 printer software, click “Next”.

For the installer to continue its work, you must connect the printer to the computer while it is turned off. The current installation wizard window shows you how to do this correctly. When the printer is connected, press the power button and click “Next”. At this stage, simply close third-party pop-ups.

No further action is required from the user. In the next window you can observe the driver installation process and monitor the progress. The usual procedure for copying files lasts from 1 to 5 minutes, but the exact time depends on the computer and the installed operating system.

If there are no problems installing the driver, a window will appear indicating that “Installation is complete.” Click “Finish”.

The computer can now be successfully used together with the printer.

In our modern, technological age, it is impossible to do without a device such as a printer. Office workers, schoolchildren, students - everyone needs equipment that can print text, drawings, diagrams and even photographs on paper.

The printer is distributed everywhere, and each user, after purchase, can configure it independently. This procedure does not require calling a specialist, and with a small investment of your time, everything is very easy to do yourself.

And if you have become the proud owner of a Samsung printer, and even more so have chosen the SCX-4100 model, then connecting using our website will not be difficult.

Samsung SCX-4100 is one of the latest models of multifunctional devices, combining a printer and scanner. It is characterized by high efficiency of consumables and ease of operation. But, like any computer equipment, it requires special software to work correctly.

As a rule, it comes with the equipment itself when purchased, but there are cases when the disk with the driver is “overwritten” (cd disk defect, just scratches) or accidentally lost. Don't be upset. From us you can always download the latest version of the driver for the Samsung SCX-4100 printer, for any operating system.

How to install the driver

After downloading the driver, all you have to do is run the file with the extension. exe, which will begin installing the appropriate software for your printer. All that remains is to follow the instructions that appear, displayed in Russian.

A simple and understandable procedure, accessible to any user, even an inexperienced one who is just mastering the world of computer technology.

If this happens and difficulties arise during installation, you can always contact the service center.

How to install driver on Windows 10

All Samsung printing devices require initial setup before use. As a rule, it consists of installing a software product from the equipment manufacturer. This is a fairly simple process that anyone can do.

First of all, before you start executing the instructions, you need to prepare the distribution kit. To do this, follow the links provided in the article to download the driver for the Samsung SCX-4100 printer. Find the download in the “Downloads” folder and launch it through the “Open” menu.

Initially, select the location for installing and copying the program files. To change the directory, use the “Change...” button. After making your selection, click “Next”.

In the welcome window of the software installation wizard, no action is required, so immediately click “Next”.

We connect the device using the cable included in the kit. This must be done as shown in the picture in the installer window. After completion, do not forget to turn on the power of the printing device. Let's move on to "Next".

The program will configure the printer and register it in the system. This will take 2-3 minutes. At the final stage, uncheck the box “Yes, I want to register” and click “Done”.

Now you can try to print the text on a printer.

One regular client called me. He upgraded his computer at home. And he has an old Samsung SCX-4100 laser MFP. On the new computer, obviously 7. And before that there was XP. He and his son installed drivers for it, apparently from the included disk. But only the printer works. The scanner (via the native SmarThru program) does not scan. The SmarThru program itself freezes.

Well, I think I got the introductory information: the OS version and the MFP model. What else does? I’ll pump wood from offsite and go! On the offsite there is firewood for everything. And under 8 as well. Well, if you have it for 8, then 7 is not a problem at all :) The screenshot shows that there is support for all OSes on the offsite.

OK. He shook the wood. I put it on a flash drive. I came to the client. First of all, through “Add or Remove Programs” I removed everything that was previously installed. Rebooted. Then I installed the freshly downloaded print driver. The system found the printer. Then I installed the scanner driver. The system didn't find anything. And nothing appeared in Device Manager under Imaging Devices. Next, I installed the freshly downloaded “Easy Document Creator” (hereinafter EDC) - as I understand it, this is the successor to SmarThru. The program started, but the scanning buttons were inactive and pale. In the EDC settings I found “Search for scanners” - I ran it, but nothing was found :(

After that, I suffered for another 40 minutes. I was marking time. I tried installing the driver for the old device. Like this (screenshot from my home car, there is no SCX-4100):

But I couldn’t find the .inf file in the folder with the unpacked firewood. I downloaded different versions of drivers, because... I saw that there are different versions of the SCX-4100 - SCX-4100 simply, SCX-4100/SEE, SCX-4100/XEV. It didn't do anything. I was rummaging around on the internet. Found in USB devices - Composite device. I did a search for firewood on the Internet for him. And then it turned out that it was a webcam :)

Anyway. I won't languish. Finally I solved the problem! By installing SmarThru3_vista.exe. Moreover, I found this advice on the Samsa website in the “User Reviews” section. There are a lot of complaints there that the scanner in 7 does not work. And a bunch of answers from “Samsung specialists” sending people to the firewood that I tried first. And only one random post was with a link to this program. Without really hoping, I shook it. And I set it with the thought “I have nothing left to lose.” Installed. Launched. The interface is old and not very beautiful. But when I started it, she told me that she had found a Samsung SCX-4100 series scanner. I tensed up a little :) And when I tried to scan and the scanner made noise, I was happy! Everything worked out! Scans, allows you to select quality in the settings and make a preview.

I haven’t tried how it will work in FineReader, a person only needed to scan and send by mail. Well, in any case, I think you can scan it into the image manager, and then from there, as jpg, put everything in FineReader.
